Hey everyone! The Book of the Week is back! I’m in a funny mood, so I thought we could talk about a funny book today: The Lies of Locke Lamora! I’ll be very upfront about this: if you haven’t read this book yet, do it. Do it now. Some slight spoilers will follow the cut, including ruining what is possibly the greatest punch line in literature.

Book of the Week – July 16th 2015
StandardThe Book of the Week is back! This time, we’re going to talk a little bit about one of my favorite series, and specifically one of my favorite books: Dreams of Steel, Book Five of The Black Company by Glen Cook. By necessity, there will be some slight spoilers that follow, but nothing major in any way.
Book of the Week – July 9th 2015
StandardYeah, yeah. I know. I didn’t do a Book of the Week last week. The truth is, moving is the worst thing and drives me nuts and I completely lost track of what day it was. By the time I realized I needed to do one of these posts, it was Sunday night and I was just beginning to get ready for a new work week.
Anyway, you actually get a Book of the Week this Thursday. And this one is going to stick with the same genre theme as the last one I did. This week’s is I, Jedi by Michael A. Stackpole.
Book of the Week – June 25th 2015
StandardIt’s that time again! Every Thursday, I will be talking about a book that, for one reason or another, stuck out to me in the past. I’ll do a little review and summary (no spoilers, of course), and give a rating and recommendation.
This week, the Book of the Week is Ender’s Shadow!

I read Steelheart, the first book, and enjoyed it on the whole but found some things to be a little frustrating; on the other hand, I very much enjoyed the characters of Megan and Prof, and their respective reveals.
Large spoilers for Steelheart and smaller for Firefight follow. Continue reading
